I adored both main characters, with all their flaws and virtues, though I was more intrigued by Faelan. There are plenty of authors for these readers. I felt magkc was used to be intimidating at first and therefore appropriate, then it became more of a loving nickname. It really did feel like a mxgic recent writing. Straight to the marriage then get on with unceetain rest of the story. As she has grown older, she has become used to the way that family and friends withdraw from her, afraid of her ability to know their innermost thoughts.
The ending seemed a bit abrupt to me. That is why I wanted an epilogue so badly: There’s something about the way this book is written, of how we know mqgic of Faelan’s motivations or thoughts, that has a dreamlike quality. JaimeKristal JaimeKristal is a freelance editor unecrtain writer. A Faelen’s mother oh I did not like her at all but reading the last chapter wow she is really horrible.
Nicholas Boulton is the voice behind all of Ms. A breathtaking historical romance filled with poignancy, darkness, love, and an unexpected twist of Gaelic magic I would have gladly given it five, had there been a tidy little epilogue, or at the very least, had Faelan discover Roddy’s gift before it was taken away.
What a nasty person.

There’s a Tam Lin -twist towards the end, and I thought the reason that Roddy minsale never read Faelan’s mind which is never explicitly stated, only implied was very, very clever.
The second half was still very good, but the story line and Roddy’s and Faelen’s relationship in the first half just wouldn’t let me put the book down! Calling her “little girl” was kind of pervy.
Ditto what Ashley said, Laura. With Kinsale though you know this is not accidental but rather intentional, and it becomes clearer over time why she chose to write it this way. So she gave all that up to sit in a chair and stare into space for long periods of time, attempting to figure out What-Happens-Next.

I was surprised how much I liked this book. It does have it’s dark moments and I wouldn’t consider it a kiinsale read. Is it true that she could learn to read his thoughts?
I can see why she would want to. There are a number of things happening when Roddy and Faelan arrive in Ireland.
Kinsale and I’m not impressed. I loved her characters, the dark mystery, the inner conflicts, the clever exchanges, the humor.
I did enjoy it for it’s different setting Ireland and the mystical feel of Roddy’s ability and the overall magical feel of Ireland. But i admired our heroine for never making a fuss about it, never hating her husband but instead trying to read him, trying to understand him.

And I get that this is a biz This book needs a damned epilogue. I’ve hardly read any romance novels with marriage of convenience, so it was unusual to read about a couple marrying not long after the beginning of the book, and then falling in love and overcoming obstacles.
View all 3 comments. Her books are never dull, and I would take a duff Kinsale if there is such a thing over many of the sub-standard historical romances being published at the moment. The reasons given for Faelan’s blackouts make no sense to me. He is falling in love with her iinsale she with him. Let her look at him and see into his soul laid bare and still loved her, uncertaiin a fierceness that made her want to laugh and cry at once.
